An ode to five historic buildings whose skin and bones have made it onto the big screen, and while real life may wear them down, through film they have ceased to age.
Every business starts with a single point of genesis and the realization that there’s a demand that’s not being served. Find Everything Historic is no different. We have created a targeted experience that serves people just like us—and you. We are your neighbors next door with a love for historic properties, and a passion to do everything we can to ensure they remain relevant in every part of our culture and society for generations to come.
When we feel disconnected from the lives we lead and the jobs we show up to every day, it’s only logical to seek some other outlet that reminds us why it’s better to wake up thankful to be alive. For many people today that meaningful connection now comes in the form of something more tangible and close to home: revitalizing our communities, re-energizing where we live, and re-connecting with the bricks, mortar, and timber that help create something we can proudly call our own.
Every historic renovation project I’ve been involved with over the years creates a sense of pride. But the ones that utilize reclaimed materials to achieve a unique modern design are the most satisfying. Eventually at some distant point in the future, these buildings will be demolished as well. And one can only hope that someone with the same sense of adventure and creativity inside of them will rip through the heap of bones to find something that inspires them and keep history alive and out of the landfill.
Bars: the place where people come together to socialize simply as humans, where titles or suffixes are left at the door and worries and woes can be (temporarily) forgotten. They are a place where friendships are quickly made, and occasionally history too. We take a look at the oldest American taverns still in working existence, which also happen to be homes of historic events, that helped shape this country.
